President Abbas discusses latest political developments in occupied Palestinian Territory during call with Emir of Qatar

President Mahmoud Abbas discussed during a telephone call this evening with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the latest political developments in the occupied Palestinian Territory, particularly in the war-torn Gaza Strip.

During the call, which comes as part of the ongoing bilateral consultations and efforts to stop the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, the president emphasized the necessity of putting an end to the Israeli aggression immediately and preventing any attempts aimed at the forced displacement of any Palestinian, whether in Gaza or the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

The President stressed that the only solution to the escalation in the region is through a political solution that leads to an end to the Israeli occupation of the land of the State of Palestine, including its capital; Jerusalem.

The President and the Emir of Qatar reviewed efforts exerted in coordination with Arab countries to stop the Israeli aggression waged on the entire Palestinian Territory, accelerate the entry of relief and medical aid into Gaza and restore water and electricity there as soon as possible to help alleviate the suffering of its population.

President Abbas praised efforts made by the State of Qatar and its firm stance toward the just Palestinian cause. He further expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Emir of Qatar for his continuous support of the Palestinian people and their cause.
