Occupation forces arrest over 25 Palestinians in West Bank

Israeli occupation forces conducted a series of arrests in the occupied West Bank over the last 24 hours, detaining at least 25 individuals, including a woman, a wounded person, and several children, from according to a joint statement by the Palestinian Detainees Affairs Authority and the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

The statement reported that the arrest raids were concentrated in the town of Baqa al-Hatab, located east of Qalqilya. Other arrests were carried out in various governorates, including Jenin, Hebron, Tubas, the Northern Jordan Valley, Tulkarm, and Jerusalem.

The Palestinian organizations highlighted that Israeli occupation forces continued to engage in widespread acts of harassment, brutal beatings, threats against detainees and their families, as well as destruction and extensive looting of homes, confiscating funds and vehicles.

The joint statement emphasized a significant rise in the number of arrests since October 7th, reaching approximately 6,485 individuals. This figure includes those arrested from their homes, at military checkpoints, those who surrendered under pressure, and those taken as hostages.

According to the statement, these relentless and escalating arrest campaigns are part of Israel’s comprehensive aggression against the Palestinian people, particularly following the aggression on Gaza since October 7. The brutality of the Israeli offensive has targeted all segments of the population, including children, women, and the elderly.

The data related to arrest cases encompasses those who remain in Israeli custody and those who were released at a later stage, according to the two groups.
