Data shows a drop in number of corona fatalities, new cases in West Bank and Gaza

RAMALLAH, Saturday, February 6, 2021 – The latest data of coronavirus fatalities and cases in Palestine published today showed a decline recorded in the last 24 hours.

According to the daily coronavirus report, three people have died in the West Bank of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, and 298 new cases were recorded, while 245 patients have recovered.

The Gaza Strip had no fatalities, but recorded 172 new cases and 185 recoveries in the last 24 hours.

There were no data from East Jerusalem, which is provided once every two or three days.

Health Minister Mail Alkaila said in the daily corona report that 63 patients remain in intensive care units, including 15 who are on artificial respirators.

No change in the rate of recovery, active cases and deaths was reported, with recovery reaching 94 percent of the total cases confirmed since the outbreak in Palestine in March, 4.9 percent remain active today, and 1.1 percent of the total have died.

With today’s figures, the West Bank recorded a total of 109,630 cases since last March, along with 1343 fatalities, and 104,208 recoveries, while the Gaza Strip had 52,399 total cases, 527 fatalities, and 47,912 recoveries.

East Jerusalem, until yesterday, had 20,512 total confirmed cases, 188 fatalities, and 19,472 recoveries.
