The European Union (EU) has consistently and repeatedly reminded Israel of the need to fulfill its obligations under international law with respect to the Palestinian population of the West Bank, in particular in Area C and East Jerusalem.
The EU has repeatedly reiterated its strong opposition to Israel’s settlement policy and measures taken in this context, especially demolitions and seizures, including of EU-funded assets, the most recent of which was a debate in the European Parliament held on November 24, 20201. Two recent statements2 refer specifically to the Israeli demolitions of Palestinian structures, such as housing, subsistence and sanitation facilities, as well as the threat of demolition of the Ras Al-Al-Al-Rah school. On several occasions, Israel has also been required to return or compensate for demolished, dismantled or confiscated EU-financed assets. In 2020, 114 EU-funded structures were affected.
In addition, the EU participates in public defense activities, such as visits by the EU Representative to the Occupied Palestinian Territories, together with the Heads of Mission of the EU Member States, specifically to relevant places in Area C of the Territories. Occupied Palestinians.

New measures are currently being considered to protect EU investments.
