Palestinian detainee in Israel, Khader Adnan, dead after 86 days of hunger strike

Palestinian detainee in Israel, Khader Adnan, 44, is dead after 86 days of hunger strike in protest against his detention, Tuesday said the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

It said that the Israel Prison Services (IPS) informed the prisoners that Adnan, from the town of Arraba, south of the northern West Bank city of Jenin, who was detained on February 5, has died after his long hunger strike during which he refused to take any additives or get any medical attention.

Adnan, a father of nine, was arrested 12 times during his life and went on strike several times in protest against this detention without any charge.

The IPS said Adnan was found unconscious in his prison cell this morning and then moved to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
