Israeli forces detain 19 Palestinians from West Bank

Israeli forces Thursday detained 19 Palestinians in multiple overnight raids across the West Bank, said Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

Israeli forces detained four Palestinians, including two brothers and their uncle, after storming their homes in the Jenin city neighborhood of Wad Burqin.

They also conducted a large-scale search operation in the vicinity of several homes the Israeli army had previously demolished in the neighborhood and at the condolences tent for the Jarrar family.

The homes were demolished during a raid that resulted in the killing of Ahmad Ismail Jarrar on January 18. The raid was conducted as part of a manhunt for Ahmad Nasr Jarrar, who was suspected of being behind an attack that left an Israeli settler dead near Nablus last month.

PPS said another Palestinian was detained from the northern West Bank district of Jenin.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces conducted a raid into al-Lubban al-Sharqiya village, south of Nablus, ransacking several homes and detaining two Palestinians, including a 15-year-old boy.

PPS said another Palestinian was detained from Nablus district.

Still in the northern West Bank, forces conducted a similar raid into Anabta town, east of Tulkarem, where they detained four Palestinians after storming and wreaking havoc in their homes.

In the Jordan Valley, two others were detained in subsequent raids across Jericho district.

Two others were detained during two separate raids into the Ramallah-district villages of Kufr Malek and al-Mazra’a al-Gharbiya.

In the meantime, forces detained two Palestinians during separate raids into Deir Razih village and al-Fawar refugee camp, southwest of Hebron.

Separately, a Palestinian was detained by Israeli soldiers in the vicinity of the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron. He was identified as a resident of al-Arroub refugee camp, north of the city.
