Israel prevents call for prayers at Ibrahimi Mosque 645 times in 2017

Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs Yousef Id’es said the Israeli occupation authorities banned the Muslim call for prayers in Hebron’s sacred Ibrahimi Mosque 645 times in 2017, including 53 times in December alone.

Id’es called on international organizations, especially the UNESCO, to put an end to Israel’s violations against Islamic holy sites, including the Ibrahimi Mosque.

The Ibrahimi Mosque, believed to be the burial place of prophet Abraham, is located in central Hebron, a frequent site of tensions due to the presence of around 500 Israeli settlers in the Old City.
