Israeli forces detain 23 Palestinians in East Jerusalem, West Bank raids

RAMALLAH – Israeli forces Thursday detained 23 Palestinians, including four minors, in multiple overnight raids in Jerusalem and the West Bank, said the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) and security sources.

PPS said Israeli police detained at least eight Palestinians, including three 17-year-old teens, during raids across the East Jerusalem neighborhoods of Silwan and al-Tur.

Elsewhere in the southern West Bank, Israeli forces raided the Hebron-district town of Dura and Arrub refugee camp, where they detained two Palestinians.

Forces conducted two separate raids into Tuqu town, east of Bethlehem, and the Bethlehem neighborhood of al-Jabal, where they detained two Palestinians, including a 15-year-old minor.

In the central West Bank, two Palestinians were detained during raids into Ramallah and al-Bireh district.

In the northern West Bank, Israeli troops raided Jenin city, where they detained three Palestinians after storming and ransacking their family homes.

Troops also conducted similar raids in Nablus city and al-Ein refugee camp, where they detained two Palestinians.

Two Palestinians were also detained and a number of homes ransacked during a raid into Kafr al-Dik, west of Salfit.

Elsewhere in the northern West Bank, troops detained two Palestinians during separate two raids into al-Faraa refugee camp, south of Tubas, and Qalqiliya district.
