Four crisis cells formed to assist Palestinian nationals in Ukraine: Official

Political adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ahmad al-Deek, said today that four crisis cells have been formed by the Foreign Ministry to ensure the safety of the Palestinian community and students in Ukraine.

He said in a press statement that the first cell will be functioning from the premises of the Ministry in Ramallah, while the second one was formed at Palestine’s embassy in Kyiv.

The third crisis cell, he added, will be a mobile field office inside Ukraine whose mission is to monitor the situation of the Palestinian community in the country and offer assistance to Palestinian expatriates as needed, and will be moving from one place to another according to the developments and the security situation on the ground.

The fourth crisis cell was formed by the ambassadors of the State of Palestine to the neighboring countries of Ukraine and will offer assistance to Palestinian nationals or students who can reach the border crossings with these countries from Ukraine.

Al-Deek said several students and members of the community have already crossed the border from Ukraine to Romania or Poland and were received by Palestinian embassy staff on the other side of the border.
