PNC elects President Abbas as President of State of Palestine

The 23rd ordinary session of the Palestinian National Council, Palestine’s parliament in exile, unanimously elected President Mahmoud Abbas on Friday as head of the State of Palestine and head of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).

Azzam al-Ahmad, member of the PLO Executive Committee, announced on Friday early morning that Abbas was unanimously elected as President of the PLO Executive Committee.
