Abbas receives visiting Brazilian External Relations Minister

President Mahmoud Abbas received at his office in Ramallah on Thursday the Brazilian Minister of External Relations, Aloysio Nunes, where they discussed the latest political developments and the impasse of the peace process in the aftermath of the United States’ decisions on Jerusalem.

Abbas confirmed the need to form a multilateral international mechanism that stems from an international peace conference to revive the peace process, leading to a just and comprehensive peace for an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Abbas also praised Brazil’s position in support of the Palestinian people and their just cause, saying that Palestine is keen to promote the bilateral relations between the two nations.

Meanwhile, Nunes affirmed his country’s support for the political process based on the principle of a two-state solution for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

He said Brazil will continue to support the Palestinian people in various fields and exchange experiences in order to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
