350 Palestinian minors incarcerated in Israeli prisons, three administratively

Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) reported on Thursday that more than 350 minors of both sexes are serving sentences in three Israeli prisons, 67 of them were arrested during February.

PPS said that 182 minors were in Ofer prison near Ramallah, including three serving administrative detention.

Loai Mansi, representative of minor detainees at Ofer prison, told PPS that most of minors were assaulted and beaten by Israeli soldiers during detention. He told the story of a 13-year- old boy whom the prison guards could not handcuff him because his hands were too small to keep the hand cuffs on, in an indication that he is too young to be arrested.

He added that 117 minors were transferred to Ofer prison since the beginning of 2018.

An estimated 168 other minors are currently in Majido and Hasharon prisons.
