Palestinians suffocate in Hebron area clashes

Several Palestinians Wednesday suffocated after inhaling tear gas fired at them by Israeli forces during clashes that erupted in the town of Beit Ummar to the north of Hebron, said a local activist.

Coordinator of the popular committee against settlements and the Apartheid Wall, Mohammad Awad, told WAFA Israeli forces stormed al-Thahr area to the south, and took over the rooftops of several homes, provoking residents and leading to clashes.

Forces used tear gas canisters against residents, causing several suffocation cases among them. They were all treated at the scene.
