Foreign Minister Malki arrives in Baghdad on an official visit

Foreign Minister Riyad Malki arrived Wednesday in the Iraqi capital Baghdad on an official visit.

He is expected to meet later in the day with President Fouad Masoum, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, Speaker of the House of Representatives Salim al-Jabouri and Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari.

Malki is going to discuss bilateral relations and issues of common concern in an effort to strengthen Palestinian-Iraqi relations.

He will also convey a message of support from President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian leadership to the Iraqi people and leadership in their battle to defeat the Islamic State forces.
