On August 15th, the different media outlets exposed footage of the vicious Israeli demolition campaigns, of raiding houses and stores in many towns and neighborhoods in occupied Jerusalem, under the pretext of non-authorization. These campaigns were done under the protection of dozens of Israeli military vehicles and armed soldiers; in which the occupation’s municipality bulldozers demolished a commercial compound at Al-Sal’a neighborhood south of Al-Aqsa holy Mosque. The bulldozers continued to demolish a commercial/residential building, in addition to bulldozing agricultural lands in the town of Al-Isawiya under the same pretexts, and a house was also demolished in Al Bustan neighborhood in Silwan. All this is only an episode in the series of the war by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian national and humanitarian presence in the occupied capital, in front of the whole world to witness.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemns the fascist and racist demolition campaigns against the houses and properties of Palestinian citizens in Jerusalem, the Ministry affirms that the Israeli policies are a flagrant violation of international law, which reflects the absence of international protection mechanisms for Palestinian families, families that face the occupation in all its forms from bulldozers to heavy machinery and advanced weapons that are used to terrorize the Palestinian land owners, and to prevent them from asking for their rights and their existence. The occupation authorities impose a huge amount of fascist and racist laws and regulations, which is only applied to Palestinians, in a clear discriminatory racial practices that exceed that usual definitions of an apartheid system.
What we witnessed yesterday of demolitions, destruction and vandalism embodies the literal systemized state of terror, and we witness it daily in every neighborhood and in every street in occupied Jerusalem. The escalation of the restrictions on the Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem is aimed at Judaizing the city and force the Palestinians to leave their homes, and empty the city of its original citizens; which reflects the Arab and Islamic apathy towards our people in Jerusalem and the fact that the international community neglects and disregards the suffering of our people in Jerusalem; which also demonstrates the way they are abandoning their responsibilities in providing international protection to Palestinian citizens under occupation, and the fear of implementing UN resolutions, or even implement any direct or indirect intervention to stop the continuous Israeli aggression against the Palestinians. We, as Palestinians have the right to ask, how many more homes will be destroyed, how many Palestinian families will also be displaced until the world will wake up to the fascism, racism and oppression of the occupier.
