Prosecutor says detainee died in Bethlehem prison of normal causes

The Public Prosecutor’s Office said Tuesday night that there were no criminal suspicion in the death of a 42-year-old Palestinian detainee in Bethlehem prison.

A resident of Beit Fajjar, south of Bethlehem, died at the Bethlehem Rehabilitation Center in his sleep. He has been detained for 18 days with court order for not paying a debt.

The prosecution denied media reports about the cause of death of the detainee, noting that after the investigating the death by the forensic doctor, it was found that the death was normal and no criminal suspicion involved.
