Colonization Resistance Commission succeeds in halting settlement works near Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM – The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission (CWRC) said on Wednesday it was able to obtain a decision from the Supreme Court of Israel to remove caravans installed by Israeli settlers near the village of al-Khader, south of Bethlehem in the West Bank.

Hassan Burajiya, CWRC representative in Bethlehem, said attorney Gheyath Nasser from CWRC had filed a case against the caravans to the Supreme Court of Israel, and was able to obtain a decision ordering their removal.

The caravans were installed at lands belonging to Ibrahim Salman Sbeih, a Palestinian from al-Khader.

Burajiya said though the decision is final, there are concerns that Israeli forces and police might “circumvent” the decision and refuse to remove the caravans.
