Palestinians injured in clashes with Israeli forces near Ramallah

RAMALLAH – At least four Palestinian university students were shot by live ammunition during clashes with Israeli forces at a checkpoint north of Ramallah, according to the Ministry of Health.

Birzeit University students marched toward the checkpoint, outside the Jewish settlement of Beit El, to protest the killing of fellow student Mohammad Ghanem who was shot and killed by Israeli police in Jerusalem on Friday.

Soldiers attacked the protesters shooting live fire, rubber-coated steel bullets and tear gas canister at them injuring four with live bullets.

The Ministry of Health said the four were shot in their lower extremities and they were reported in stable condition at Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah.
