Israeli forces detain 14 Palestinians in West Bank, East Jerusalem

JERUSALEM – Israeli forces Monday detained at least 14 Palestinians from the West Bank and East Jerusalem, said the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society.

Israeli police detained two Palestinians after storming their home in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of al-Tur.

One of the detainees was identified as Hassan Abu Ghannam whose son, Muhammad, was killed by Israeli forces in Jerusalem on Friday.

Israeli troops raided Nablus city in the northern West Bank where they detained a 50-year-old Palestinian woman and her son.

Elsewhere in the northern West Bank, forces detained a Palestinian who was waiting outside Salem detention center, west of Jenin, for the release of a relative. Soldiers also seized his motorcycle.

Troops also conducted a similar raid into the Salfit-district village of Hares, detaining a 17-year-old minor.

Two other Palestinians, including a 22-year-old woman, were detained in separate raids into the Ramallah-district towns of Jifna and Turmusaya.

Five other Palestinians were detained in the Bethlehem district, and, 83-year-old politician and author Mohammad Said Midieh was detained in the Hebron district.
