Israeli forces raid West Bank village, ransack home of alleged attacker

RAMALLAH – Israeli forces raided early Saturday the Ramallah-area village of Kobar, ransacked the home of an alleged attacker who the night before stabbed to death three Israeli settlers and detained his brother, local source said.

Israeli reports said 19-year-old Omar al-Abed stabbed and killed three Israeli settlers and seriously injured a fourth after breaking into the illegal settlement of Halamish, west of Ramallah. Abed was shot and seriously wounded.

Israeli forces raided the alleged attacker’s home in Kobar, handcuffed and interrogated his family members while forcing them to lie on the floor, ransacked their home in a vengeful act and detained the brother, Munir, said the sources.

The army also sealed off the village to the outside world and prevented residents from leaving it as a collective punishment.
